Dräger FPS®-COM 7000
The Dräger FPS®-COM 7000 provides standalone hands-free communication along with optional connection to tactical radios. Voice-activated, the FPS-COM 7000 provides full-duplex communication on one of seven user-selected channels. Up to 10 users per channel can be connected without using a tactical radio, which is especially ideal for special operations like hazardous materials response teams.
The harshest conditions on the fire ground
When confronting the harshest conditions on the fire ground the firefighter needs a robust set of tools that clear the way for rescues, extinguishing flames, cutting through smoke, and tackling other obstacles on today’s complex fire grounds.
The Dräger FPS-COM 7000 cuts through the noise, providing clear communication for teams of firefighters. Using the proven FPS 7000 full-face mask connected to a Dräger SCBA, the FPS-COM 7000 leads the field in robust features and toughness.
Independent wireless communication
While it can optionally connect with more than 350 different tactical radios, the Dräger FPS-COM 7000 offers wireless communication between wearers. Offering seven channels or groups, up to 10 firefighters can communicate with each other using the FPS-COM 7000.
Voice-activated, full-duplex communication between wearers within close proximity of each other, this means the FPS-COM 7000 allows firefighters to talk and listen as the same time, almost like a telephone or intercom.
Ideal for special operations teams
For special operations teams – like hazmat, technical rescue, rapid intervention teams, etc. – the Dräger FPS-COM 7000 allows interaction leaving both hands free to focus on the task. The TeamTalk feature works best with wearers with good radio discipline. Additionally, TeamTalk works with firefighters in close proximity to one another.
In a normal building with walls, the TeamTalk signal works ideally with wearers less than 90 feet (27.4 meters) from one another or almost 300 feet (91.4 meters) line of sight. While the unit can support up to 10 firefighters for each of seven groups, the FPS-COM 7000 works best with six or less firefighters per group.
Incident commander connections
When connected to the tactical radio, the incident commander’s broadcasts break through and override TeamTalk. If only one member of a group is connected to a tactical radio, the FPS-COM 7000 can be programmed to relay the incident commander’s broadcasts to the entire group. This means that only one member of the group needs a tactical radio while everyone is still informed immediately.
The large button on the left side of the Dräger FPS-COM 7000 can be programmed for push-to-talk with the tactical radio. The toggle switch just above it allows for changing the group with audio feedback to the wearer as to which of the seven groups the unit is connected.
Noise suppression for optimum voice quality
The newly developed digital noise reduction automatically suppresses ambient noises and only transmits voice. In particular, the Dräger FPS-COM 7000 filters out breathing noise and does not transmit it via the voice amplifier, TeamTalk, or tactical radio. The integrated loudspeakers allow interact directly with the injured people and team members without radio equipment.
Programmable for specific fire department
Unlock the features of the FPS-COM 7000 by connecting it to included PC software. The push-to-talk button can be programmed for tactical radio, to trigger the voice amplifier, or one can disable the voiceactivated feature and require the button to broadcast the wearer’s voice via TeamTalk.
The flexible goosenecks allow two earpieces to line up properly. The earpieces can be programmed so that TeamTalk is relayed on one ear and the tactical radio on the other. Each fire department can easily make changes as using the FPS-COM 7000 evolves, including limiting the number of groups available.
Intuitive operation and perfectly balanced
The Dräger FPS-COM 7000 was developed with a focus on ergonomic handling and intuitive operation. The set radio group is announced via the earphones. Different alarm tones warn of low battery status or if you are out of range from the team communication.
The unit connects seamlessly to the Dräger FPS 7000 full-face mask. The robust design balances weight distribution for wearer’s comfort and will not restrict the firefighter’s movement or field of view.
Flexibility before, during and after the mission
Thanks to its click connection that is easy to operate, the Dräger FPS-COM 7000 can be attached and removed in only a few steps – within seconds and without special tools. This allows greater flexibility to interchange between different face masks which can quickly be ready to operate by simply removing the protective cap.
The Dräger FPS-COM 7000 resists strong shocks and impacts. Resistant to extreme temperatures with protection class IP67, meaning the FPS-COM 7000 is waterproof and can be easily cleaned with or without removing it from the full-face mask.
